Clint works with the NSR Executive Committee and the four breed association boards to develop and administer policy and implement the strategic plans and goals of the National Swine Registry. He is responsible for fiscal management, staff recruitment and retention and program accountability. Clint represents NSR in various national organizations, including the National Pork Board, Animal Science Committee, National Association of Swine Records (NASR) and the National Pedigreed Livestock Council (NPLC). He also serves on the U.S. Livestock Genetics Export Board of Directors, is the past president of the National Swine Improvement Association and currently holds an adjunct/collaborator faculty position at both Iowa State University and Colorado State University. Along with his administrative responsibilities in the many underlying functions and programs of NSR, Clint still maintains an active role in the development of the commercial and international genetic programs of the organization.
Clint previously served as the Director of Genetic and Technical Service for NSR. He holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Colorado State University, as well as a master’s and doctorate in animal breeding and genetics from Iowa State University. Clint and his wife, Sarah, live in Brookston, Ind.

As the Vice President of Operations, Mike oversees the activities of the NSR field representatives and manages NSR-sponsored sales and shows. In addition, Mike currently serves as the president of the National Association of Swine Records (NASR) and has previously served as both the vice president and a member of the board of directors for the National Pedigree Livestock Council (NPLC).
Mike and his wife, Sue, have one daughter, Jamie, who is married to Andy Schultz. Jamie and Andy live in Bowling Green, Ken., along with their three children Nicole, Blake and Rachel. Mike and Sue count their children and grandchildren among their greatest blessings.
Interesting fact: Mike and Sue exhibited the Grand Champion Duroc boar at the 1976 NBS and the Duroc Hog College Gilt at the 1979 NBS.

Robin oversees the Pedigree Department and handles questions from breeders related to their account information and pedigrees. She also manages NSR employee payroll and accounts receivable/payable. Robin can be seen at NSR shows helping with check-in and clerking the sales.
Robin and her husband, Frank, live on a small farm outside of West Lafayette. They are blessed by eight grandchildren who continually remind them to enjoy each day.

Lisa has been working in the purebred swine industry for more than two decades and serves as a valuable resource for both NSR members and staff. In her current position, Lisa is in charge of planning NSR meetings and banquets, as well as arranging travel itineraries for the NSR Board of Directors and staff. She travels with the NSR team to clerk the shows and sales and assist with the preparation of show and sale catalogs. Lisa also performs secretarial duties for NSR CEO, Dr. Clint Schwab.
Lisa is the proud grandparent of two little ones, Macyn and Prestyn. Her husband, John, owns and operates John Kennedy Construction, LLC. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and working in her yard and flower gardens.

Rhonda works with the team in the Pedigree Department to complete litter recordings and transfers via mail, e-mail and over the phone. She also assists with mailing projects and helps the “show crew” prepare pen cards and pedigrees.
Rhonda enjoys weekend trips with her husband, Tom, spending time with her grandson, Lex, and helping friends whenever needed. She is looking forward to the future and the years of retirement that await her.

As the Duroc Secretary and Receptionist, Jessica stays busy assisting breeders and handling Duroc pedigrees, mailing NSR supply orders, and updating Seedstock EDGE subscriptions. She is also responsible for opening and sorting all the incoming mail and processing all daily deposits. Jess helps the team before shows by organizing NSR and NJSA show entries.

Whitney holds many responsibilities within her position, including assisting NSR members and staff in all facets of DNA testing, handling Hampshire & Landrace pedigrees and data entry.
Whitney earned a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from Western Illinois University (WIU) in 2009. She was a member of various organizations including the Indiana Junior Swine Circuit, Madison County 4-H, Black Hawk College Agribusiness Club, Phi Theta Kappa and the National Junior Swine Association. At WIU, she served as Ag Council president and Hoof N’ Horn secretary and competed on the livestock judging and show teams.

Justin’s responsibilities with NSR include oversight and research associated with STAGES, the genetic analysis software utilized by NSR members, genetic consultation to commercial-oriented members and their clientele and participation in scientific swine conferences and tradeshows both domestically and internationally. He also coordinates America’s Best Genetics, an NSR program intended to develop the international purebred swine market. Oversight of this program includes direction of the marketing plan, facilitation of international partnerships and consultation of NSR members’ international clientele.
Justin obtained an associate’s degree from Land Lake College, a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Iowa State University, and both a master’s and doctoral degree in swine breeding and genetics from North Carolina State University. While at ISU, Justin was a member of the livestock judging team under Clint Schwab and was named to the All-American Livestock Judging Team. As a graduate student at NC State, he taught several courses in the animal science department and served as president of the NCSU Animal Science Graduate Student Association. In 2009, Justin was honored with the Lauren L. Christian Memorial Graduate Student Award. Justin grew up on a small cattle operation in Muscatine, Iowa, and was actively involved in 4-H and FFA.

Adam recently joined the NSR as the team’s Software Developer. He collaborates with the various departments within NSR to develop web and server-based applications to meet the diverse needs of the organization.
Adam is originally from Roanoke, Ind. He graduated from Purdue University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in computer graphics technology, specializing in web development and computer animation. In his spare time, Adam enjoys playing golf and shooting billiards. He and his wife, Brittany, reside in West Lafayette.

As the Director of Marketing & Communications, Jen is responsible for the long-range planning and implementation of activities within the department. This includes the production of Seedstock EDGE, development of an online presence through the NSR website and social media outlets and fostering strong working relationships between the department and NSR members. Jen travels to NSR shows and events to represent the organization and provide live event coverage.
Jen holds a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from Kansas State University, as well as a master’s degree in agricultural communications from Oklahoma State University. During her undergraduate career, Jen had various opportunities to study and volunteer abroad, traveling to countries including Australia, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras. Between her undergraduate and master’s degrees, Jen spent 6 months working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. During her time at Oklahoma State, she worked as a graduate teaching assistant, served as the editorial assistant for the Journal of Applied Communications and completed an internship with the OSU SUNUP television program. A native of Copeland, Kan., Jen grew up active in 4-H and other youth programs in her small community.

As the Creative Director, Steve designs advertising for Seedstock EDGE, and produces layouts for various breeder catalogs and fliers, and numerous promotional materials for NSR and NJSA throughout the year. He also performs NSR website design and updates.
A native of the Lafayette, Ind., Steve was an 10-year member of 4-H showing swine. Steve and his wife, Wendy, reside in the small town of Mulberry, Ind.

Katie is our Assistant Editor and a major contributor to Seedstock EDGE. Her responsibilities include writing feature articles, compiling and editing show reports, maintaining social media content, taking photographs and working with advertisers and clients. She serves as the editor of the “Pinnacle,” the e-newsletter of the National Junior Swine Association, and travels to NSR shows and events to represent the NSR and provide members with live reports and updates.
Katie received her bachelor’s in agricultural journalism from the University of Missouri, where she was a member of the livestock judging team and an active member of many agricultural organizations including Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen and MU Block & Bridal. Prior to joining NSR, Katie wrote for the Missouri Ruralist as the College Farmer columnist, produced the North American Voice newsletter for FMC Co., and served as the community service assistant for her local Extension office.
Katie hails from Londell, Missouri. There she grew up on her family’s cow-calf operation and was an active member of both 4-H and FFA, showing cattle throughout the state.

Ralph is responsible for promoting purebred swine and making herd visits in the Eastern region of the U.S. He also works as a ringman at all NSR shows and sales, as well as several state fairs. Ralph sells advertisements in his territory for Seedstock EDGE and helps members coordinate catalog listings for Buyers Choice Auction sales. Additionally, Ralph is available for genetic consultation for both junior and senior members of NSR.
Ralph has been married to his wife, Becky, for 37 years. They have two daughters, Rachel and Amy, and four grandchildren: Ella, Evan, Reid, and Freya. Watching his daughters grow into successful women and mothers is one of Ralph’s proudest accomplishments, and he loves watching his grandchildren change and grow.

Michael works to promote the use of purebred Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire swine in the Northern region of the U.S. He also provides technical assistance to breeders throughout his territory. Michael attends regional, state, and national NSR events, sells advertising for Seedstock EDGE and coordinates catalog listings for Buyers Choice Auction sales.
Michael holds undergraduate degrees from Colorado State University and Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado, as well as a master’s degree in animal science from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.
Before joining NSR, Michael served as an Extension Agent with Colorado State University, specializing in 4-H and Youth Development. He also worked as the livestock judging and pavilion coordinator at Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., coaching a highly competitive judging program and managing the college’s farm and meats lab. While at Northwest College, Michael also taught courses in animal science and meat science.

Brian travels to promote NSR breeds across the Southwest region of the U.S., covering states from Missouri west to California and south to Louisiana. He also attends all regional NSR and NJSA events, sells advertising for Seedstock EDGE in his territory, and helps members coordinate catalog listings for Buyers Choice Auction sales.
Brian holds an associate’s degree from Fort Scott Community College, as well as a bachelor’s in animal science production from Kansas State University. Before joining the NSR, Brian coached junior college livestock judging teams for nearly two decades at Coffeyville and Fort Scott Community College, both in Kansas. He has judged shows across the nation and has been involved in the purebred and showpig industries his whole life. Most recently, Brain worked for Sunglo as a showfeed specialist.
Brian and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Caney, Kan. They have three children: Andrew, Brenden, and Lily.

Cally serves as the Director of Junior Activities, which includes oversight of the National Junior Swine Association (NJSA), the nation’s largest youth livestock organization. NJSA consists of more than 12,000 youth 21 years of age and under who have an interest in the Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire breeds of swine. Cally helps organize and implement four regional shows and three national shows, including the World Pork Expo and the NSR Summer Spectacular, as well as three leadership conferences. As the department director, Cally also manages the partnerships of NJSA and leads the long-term planning and growth of the organization.
Cally obtained a bachelor’s degree in animal science with a specialization in agribusiness management from Michigan State University (MSU) in 2011. While at MSU, Cally competed on the livestock judging team, worked at the MSU Swine Teaching & Research Center, competed in intramural sports and was active in His House Christian Fellowship. She held several leadership positions throughout her college career, including serving as the vice president and secretary of Block & Bridal, secretary of Collegiate Farm Bureau and vice president of the Michigan Junior Livestock Society. In 2010, Cally served as the NJSA summer intern. She also completed internships with Pfizer Animal Health, Pioneer Hi-Bred, Inc., and Michigan State Senator and Agricultural Committee Chair, Gerald Van Woerkom.
Growing up on her family’s livestock and grain operation in Cassopolis, Mich., Cally was active in 4-H and FFA. She showed livestock at local, state and national levels as a 10-year member of the NJSA.

As the Junior Activities Coordinator, Sarah works to organize and implement the activities of the National Junior Swine Association (NJSA). NJSA is the nation’s largest youth livestock organization, consisting of more than 12,000 youth 21 years of age and under, who have an interest in the Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire breeds of swine. Sarah helps plan and coordinate four regional and three national swine shows, three leadership conferences, and a variety of other personal development programs and contests for youth in the swine industry.
Sarah obtained an associate’s degree in applied sciences with an agriculture-based curriculum in 2001 from Black Hawk College-East Campus near Kewanee, Ill., where she was a member of the livestock judging team. In 2003, she received a bachelor’s degree in horticulture with an emphasis on landscape design from Iowa State University. Sara also competed on the livestock judging team at ISU, was a member of Block and Bridle and provided leadership to the Northern Plains Club Lamb Association.
Sarah has worked at various greenhouses and landscape companies in Iowa and Indiana, with a positive history of increased responsibility and management roles at each position. Additionally, she worked as herdsman for the Kirkwood Community College beef and sheep farm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was employed at the Iowa State University Sheep Teaching Farm in Ames. Sarah has assisted NSR and NJSA at shows and events since 2009, and served as the show clerk at the Indiana State Fair open swine show and sale since 2010.
