National Junior Swine Association is about...
Kids, pigs and building a future – that is what the National Junior Swine Association is all about. And with your help, we can continue this tradition. Formed in 2000 as part of the National Swine Registry, the NJSA is for youth ages 21 and under who have an interest in the Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire breeds of swine. With more than 12,000 members, NJSA is the largest youth livestock organization in the U.S., and offers two national shows, four regional shows and four partnered shows, along with three leadership conferences and a variety of educational contests and scholarship opportunities.

Mission Statement
To provide a network uniting purebred swine enthusiasts through a youth organization that offers competitive opportunities to reward excellence, enhance educational opportunities, promote the value of pure genetic lines, and develop leadership skills at both the state and national levels.
Raising Pigs
NJSA members know raising livestock is not just an occupation or an obligation; it's a way of life they can take pride in.
Youth learn the art of animal husbandry, and the importance and value of a hard day's work, as they prepare their swine projects to exhibit at NJSA sanctioned shows throughout the nation.
But raising pigs isn't just about the blue ribbons; it's about learning the skills needed to move the swine industry forward.
By raising purebred, pedigreed pigs and learning about the importance of good genetics and proper management, our youth are poised to feed America in the future.
Raising Kids
Parents of NJSA members will attest the association isn't just another showpig club, but a network that helps youth develop into better people.
NJSA members make life-long friends and connections within the swine industry they can call on for the rest of their lives.
NJSA not only allows youth to surround themselves with a network of peers and industry experts, but it also brings families closer together. Swine projects offer opportunities for the whole family to work and have fun together.

NJSA is more than an association. It's a community that creates an environment to sculpt kids into industry leaders.
Youth involved in NJSA are encouraged to step into leadership roles and practice professional skills, such as public speaking, to prepare them for challenges agriculture will face in the future.
Today's youth will become tomorrow's industry leaders. By developing NJSA members with working knowledge and steadfast ethics, we are creating the building blocks of the swine industry – and of our future.

Display Booth Space
The NJSA offers the opportunity for sponsors and companies to sell and display their products and highlight their organization at four regional shows and two national shows.
