The NJSA is proud to recognize Keri Landry, 9, of Jeanerette, Louisiana as a youth spotlight. The daughter of Jared and Allison Landry, Keri has one sister, Hallie. A student at St. John Elementary, Keri is active in 4-H and softball.
Keri has been a member of NJSA for 7 years, showing pigs since she was only 2 years old. When asked why she shows pigs, Keri responded, “Because it is something we do as a family.” Her favorite show is the National Junior Summer Spectacular where she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Keri’s most memorable moment in the NJSA was winning showmanship at the Southeast Regional Show two years in a row (2009 and 2010), while also winning the gilt show there in 2010. Keri would like to tell other NJSA members that, “NJSA is a great organization that combines what I love to do: show pigs and meet new people.”
Currently, Keri is preparing her hogs for upcoming shows. Her future plans are to be an active NJSA member and eventually become a veterinarian.
The NJSA would like to congratulate Keri on all of her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck with all of her future endeavors!
