Chloe O’Neal

The NJSA would like to recognize Chloe O’Neal, 7, of Wilkinson, Indiana as a youth spotlight.  The daughter of Chris and Clarissa O’Neal, Chloe has one sister, Makenzie, and one brother, Jayden.  She attends Eastern Hancock Elementary School where she enjoys reading and writing.  Outside of school, Chloe’s hobbies include swimming, spending time with her family and friends, and showing pigs with her sister.

Chloe started showing pigs at the age of 5.  When asked why she shows pigs, Chloe responded, “Because it is fun to watch them grow up and see how I can do at the shows with them.”  Making new friends and spending time with her family are what she enjoys most about showing.  Chloe’s favorite shows are the National Junior Summer Spectacular and the NAILE.

Her favorite quote, “Hard work pays off,” shines through on her extensive list of accomplishments.  Some of her accomplishments include exhibiting the Champion Yorkshire Gilt and Grand Champion Overall Gilt at the 2010 NJSS, 5th Overall Duroc Gilt at the 2010 NJSS, winning Champion Novice Showman at the 2010 IJSC, Reserve Champion Novice Showman at the 2009 IJSC, Skillathon Champion at the 2009 and 2010 IJSC, and placing 5th in Novice Sweepstakes at the 2010 NJSS.

Chloe’s most memorable moment in the NJSA was winning Grand Champion Overall Gilt at the 2010 NJSS.  She would like to tell younger NJSA members to “work hard and have fun.”

In the future, Chloe plans to attend Indiana University, Purdue University, or Butler to become a nurse.

The NJSA would like to congratulate Chloe on all of her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck with her future endeavors!
