Lily Bennett

Exeter, Calif.

Lily Bennett is 13 years old and from Exeter, Calif. Lily is raised by her parents, Richard and Jennifer, along with three siblings, Lena, 7, Lucy, 10, and Olivia, 21. Lily is currently in 8th grade and plays volleyball in school. Outside of school, Lily enjoys showing pigs. Lily has been showing pigs since she was in 4th grade, with her first show being the Western Regional. Her dad showed commercial beef cattle and her sister was interested in showing animals, so they started showing swine. Lily enjoys having fun at shows and hanging out with friends. Her favorite livestock show was the NJSS because it was cool to see some many pigs and a lot of people. She enjoyed the skillathon, speech contest, judging contest and showed a Duroc gilt. While she was there she said time flew by. Lily’s most memorable moment in the NJSA was when she won her first belt buckle last year for winning sweepstakes. Another big accomplishment for her was being the Champion Swine Exhibitor and Champion Challenge winner at the State Fair, where the participants are Lily’s age up to freshman in college, and she was able to beat everyone. Her future plans are to become a veterinarian and go to UC Davis. Congratulations to this month’s Youth Spotlight, Lily Bennett!
