Winter 2012

My favorite holiday tradition is seeing family and getting to spend time with everyone. Every year, the whole family (cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.) all get together on Christmas Eve, and we have a big family gathering. The exchanging of the gifts is definitely one of my favorite parts of this tradition. Seeing everyone's face light up with joy is priceless. The main reason this is my favorite part is because I get to see all my family, and everyone is happy!

The Sacramento Valley winters are typically mild compared to a lot of you who might be reading this. Lows rarely hit 29 degrees, and our typical daytime high is roughly 65 degrees. (Unfortunately this can mean vulnerability to Pneumonia for some of the hogs.) Over Christmas break, our family tries to make it to the snow, which is roughly two hours away. We either go sledding with some of the cousins or snow shoeing, depending upon what the family's consensus is. We don't get snow on the valley floor so it makes for some fun when we make the short day-trip to the mountains!

My favorite past time around the winter holidays is to build a snowman and go sledding with my family. If the weather permits, we always build the biggest snowman possible. No matter how old I am, I will never outgrow this family time.

My favorite holiday tradition is going to my godparent's house on Christmas day and eating shrimp. Uncle Dave knows I love shrimp, and he makes sure he buys enough for me to snack on all day.

Living in Texas doesn't mean anything for the Langemeier family when it comes to college football. You can expect us to wear our Husker Red, which doesn't go over to well with the Aggies and Longhorn fans. All of my family originated in Nebraska, and we have all been die hard Nebraska fans since I can remember. There is nothing better than a stadium filled with more than 87,000 people and the energy that comes with Big Red football. Nebraska's Memorial Stadium holds the NCAA record for 311 consecutive sell-outs since 1962, and there's nothing better than standing amongst the sea of red cheering and yelling (or screaming at the TV when you can't get tickets because it's sold out)! I'm excited to see how Bo Pelini and the rest of the Huskers take over the Big Ten! GO-BIG-RED!

The holidays are my favorite time of the year. Everyone seems to be in a really good mood, and people get to spend time with their families. Some of my favorite traditions are to watch the Rose Bowl Parade with my parents on Thanksgiving morning before celebrating at my grandma's house eating a wonderful meal. Then for Christmas, my dad's side of the family travels to Florida where we spend time at my grandma's condo. Although it isn't a "winter wonderland," it's nice to catch up in the warm sun. I also really enjoy the snow, so whenever I get a chance, I like to go snowboarding with close friends.

My favorite part of the holiday season is getting together with my family, and all the good spirit that is in the air. I love all the holidays!

My favorite holiday tradition is to go home for break and spend the entire time with my family. My brother and I usually beg and beg and beg until we get to open all of the presents on Christmas Eve, except the ones from Santa! Then, Christmas morning, we will open the rest of our presents and eat all day long. It is a great time and lots of laughs are shared.

Hi, everybody, and Happy Holidays! My favorite holiday tradition is waking up early on Thanksgiving morning to go deer hunting. After a cold morning of hunting, it's great to sit around the table with family and friends and enjoy a delicious meal. After stuffing ourselves until we feel like we are going to burst, it's time to kick back, put our feet up and relax. The holidays are an awesome time to catch up with relatives and friends you don't normally get to see. For me, the holidays are a great break from the everyday hustle and bustle. Hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. God Bless.

My favorite part about football season is the time of year it is! I love the fall – the trees change, the temperature starts to drop, and it gets so nice outside. I also like getting together with friends to watch the games. Games are a great time to kick back, relax and have a good time! I’m a big U of I fan. I like college football better than the NFL.

Football was a huge part of my life growing up. Between playing it and watching it, I couldn’t get enough! My favorite part of football season is that it brings family and friends together. We get to sit around the television on a Sunday afternoon and watch until we get our fix. We eat and watch football! It doesn’t get any better than that!

I love Ohio State football! No matter how much grief I might catch, I am a loyal Buckeye fan. My favorite season is fall, and I enjoy watching the game with family and friends. I love the feeling of going home to see houses decorated in Buckeye memorabilia and everyone dressed in scarlet and gray for game day.

My favorite football team is the Texas Longhorns. My favorite thing to do during football season is watching college football games with my brother and buddies. My mom makes a lot of homemade food for big games, and I’m convinced she is the best cook in the entire world.

My favorite football team is the Fighting Illini! I am a fan because I go to school here. My favorite part about the football season would have to be tailgating. My mom and dad come to each home football game and bring an elaborate tailgating set up. We have even invested in a traveling tailgating trailer with the Illini logo on it. Tailgating is great because multiple friends and families come together each game and enjoy time together and delicious tailgating food! I am excited for the tailgating season to start. GO ILLINI!

My favorite team would have to be the Indianapolis Colts! For me my favorite part of football season is the time that I get to spend with my family. Almost every game, we all spend the day hanging out and my mom always cooks game food. It’s quite amazing!

My favorite part of football season is going to home Purdue games with my friends and having a great time! We always make the best of it even when the score isn’t in our favor.
