4-H may be an organization to many, but to Hyatt Frobose, it’s represents himself and his siblings Hallie, Hannah and Hunter- the four H’s. Besides being in the actual 4-H club, Hyatt Frobose, 17, is an active member in the National Junior Swine Association.

Hyatt, the son of Dan and Vicky Frobose is from Pemberville , Ohio , where he grew up on a family farm. The farm consists of feeder cattle, 20 cows and 200 acres of farmland for the production of corn, beans and wheat.

Hyatt has been showing pigs for 11 years. Hyatt attended the first National Junior Summer Spectacular in 1998 with his father. Since then he has participated in every NJSS. He took home the 2000 Junior Sweepstakes Award at NJSS. This year at NJSS he placed first in the intermediate skillathon contest and was sixth in the sweepstakes. He also competed in the first-ever NJSA Barrow Classic at Austin , Minn. , last September.

“My favorite NJSA contest, is the judging contest because it tests your ability to evaluate swine,” Hyatt said.

Some of Hyatt’s greatest accomplishments include: 2004 Ohio State FFA Proficiency Winner in Emerging Ag Technology, second place 2004 Ohio State FFA Proficiency Beef Production and Grand Champion Steer at the 1998 & 2000 Wood County Fair.

Besides showing, Hyatt is an active senior at Eastwood High School . He is on the Wood County Livestock Judging Team, Jr. Fair Board, 4-H camp counselor, FFA treasurer, varsity football, National Honor Society and attends St. John’s Lutheran Church .  In his spare time he likes to ski, hunt and judge livestock.

In the future Hyatt would like to run for the NJSA Board of Directors and graduate in the top 10 of his class. After high school, Hyatt plans to attend Butler Community College in El Dorado , Kan. , to major in animal science and participate on the livestock judging team. After school he plans to have a career within the livestock industry.

Hyatt is certainly an important asset to the NJSA. Good luck in your future endeavors!
