Timothy Billig

New
Timothy Billig is the 16-year-old son of Timothy and Teresa Billig of New Tripoli, Pa. He lives with his parents and his brother on a farm where they raise swine, potatoes, corn and soybeans. After joining the NJSA more than 5 years ago, Timothy has continued to be an active member, participating in many activities because he loves pigs. His favorite NJSA event is the Skillathon, but he also enjoys meeting people at the shows and events he attends.
In addition to the NJSA, Timothy participates in 4-H, competes in Special Olympics skiing and bowling, and volunteers at the Kempton County Fair. Some of his hobbies include riding 4-wheelers, bowling and camping. Timothy attributes his greatest accomplishments to his champion pig at the 4-H Round-Up. He is also very proud that he has been able to share a gift with his school by donating the money he earned from selling one of his pigs to Special Olympics.
Timothy feels very fortunate to be involved with pigs and the NJSA because it has helped him to overcome obstacles he has faced as a special-needs individual. He has gained independence, confidence and a "place of his own" through his activities with swine projects and the NJSA. His smile and enthusiasm when at an NJSA event truly reflects this. He loves talking to people about pigs and hopes to work for his mom and dad on their hog farm in the future.
