Whitney Hosier, 19, is from Alexandria , Ind. , and is a true farm-girl at heart. Her parents are Mark and Dena.  She also has one older sister, Kylie.

Hosier currently attends Black Hawk East Junior College where she is participating on the Livestock Judging Team.

Whitney comes from a small family farm that consists of 13 sows, predominantly Duroc, 50 cow/calf pairs, and 500 acres of corn and soybeans. When she is able to make it home, she enjoys helping her family on the farm especially with the swine enterprise.

She is currently completing her tenth year in 4-H and has been showing cattle, lambs and pigs for 12 years. Whitney said, “I joined NJSA because I enjoy meeting new people and have made lifelong friends. It is also an excellent opportunity to build life skills.”  Her most memorable moment in the showring was winning the Intermediate Showmanship contest at the 2004 NJSS.

After graduating from college she wants to work in the animal science or agribusiness industries while also continuing to raise purebred showpigs.

Congratulations Whitney on all of your accomplishments and best of luck in the future!
