Tyler Key

103 South Seminary St .
Georgetown , IL 61846

This 12-year-old is the son of Brett Key and Wyonia Seller. Tyler is a student at Marmiller Jr. High. His mom is a nurse, and his dad drives trucks.

Tyler has been showing pigs since he could walk. He won his first barrow show when he was 4. This young man comes from a long line of showmen. He is following in his family’s footsteps. His parents, uncles, and grandparents all showed pigs and Tyler is in the third generation of showmen within his family.

Tyler joined the National Junior Swine Association for the opportunity to exhibit at more shows. Tyler ’s favorite activity while at these events is participating in the swine shows. He is planning on attending the first-ever NJSA Southeast Regional in Georgia this year. He also will attend the NJSS. Tyler has had an extensive showing career and has been successful by winning 8 or 9 county fairs in Illinois this past show season.

Tyler stays busy by attending 4-H functions and participating in basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his uncles and hunting. Tyler enjoys being around friends, too.

In Tyler ’s future plans, he hopes to own a hog farm and attend vet school. Tyler also plans on showing in the NJSA until he is too old.

Tyler would also like to mention that he appreciates the support of Brent Bolen and Jim Ifft. He has purchased pigs from these guys and they have always helped him. Tyler ’s uncles, Jim and Joe, also help Tyler a great deal. Tyler has the opportunity to help his uncles at Hi Point Genetics’ farrowing facilities. Tyler also helps clip the pigs for Hi Point’s spring showpig sale.

Congratulations on all you accomplishments, Tyler!
