Allison Goings is the 14-year-old daughter of Matt & Amy Goings of Veedersburg , Ind. She is the older sister to Marshall , 10, and Wyatt, 18 months.

Allison is a freshman at Veedersburg High School . She plays volleyball and is a member of FFA where she participates in forestry and livestock judging.

Showing pigs is a passion for Allison, and she has attended the Southeast Regional, National Junior Summer Spectacular (NJSS), World Pork Expo, NAILE and has also participated in both the Regional Leadership Conference and the National Leadership Conference. Her regular attendance at those shows doesn’t stop there as she is a consistent face at the IJSC shows in Indiana , as well as her county and state fair. She and her family have experienced many recent successes at shows, and her most memorable was winning showmanship at the Southeast Regional in Georgia and also having the Reserve Champion Yorkshire Barrow at last year’s Indiana State Fair. Despite these grand accomplishments, Allison is striving to win showmanship at the NJSS in Louisville . Even though pigs are her love, she also enjoys showing goats during the summer, too. But, Allison says being with her friends and family at NJSA shows has been most enjoyable.

After high school, Allison would like to go to Purdue University to be a pharmacist. Along the way, she also would like to serve on the NJSA Board of Directors. She really enjoys all of the friends that she has met while showing in the NJSA and hopes to make many more down the road!

Congrats, Allison! You have a bright future ahead of you!
