Taylor Sobasky is the 10-year-old daughter of Andy and Jeanette Sobasky. She has a 7-year-old sister, Alyssa. The Sobaskys reside in Churubusco, Ind. Taylor is in the 5th grade.

Although she is young, Taylor has already had numerous successes. She says her best memories while showing pigs happened when she was showing “Mrs. T,” her Yorkshire gilt that was crowned Champion Yorkshire and Reserve Grand Overall at the NJSS in 2005. She was also pretty tough to beat in showmanship that year.

“Our family had a great time together that summer and it was so much fun to have all of us there to share it with,” Taylor says.

The unique thing about the Sobaskys is that they are more than just a father, mother and siblings at the shows. They also travel around with Taylor ’s uncle, aunt and cousins. Taylor says she has the most fun with her “family” showing hogs.

Taylor shows at the NJSS and is usually on the road every weekend at an Indiana Junior Swine Circuit (IJSC) show.  She hopes to go to the World Pork Expo next year. When Taylor is with her pigs, it’s all about having fun. Taylor has recently taken on the new task of showing sheep.  She enjoys the sheep, but not as much as the pigs. Later on Taylor would like to play softball, volleyball and basketball in high school. She hopes to fit all of that in while showing pigs, too. After high school, she wants to go to college and be a teacher.

Taylor says the NJSA is fun for her family and friends, and that is all that matters!

No matter what, Taylor , you will achieve great things! Keep up the good work!
