Adrian Austin of Mt. Vernon, Ill., is the 9-year-old daughter of Steve and Holly Austin. She has an older brother, Kane, who is 13 years old. Adrian attends Field Grade School. Her favorite subject is reading. Adrian’s influence to show came from her brother. Adrian decided it looked fun and wanted to get involved. Her first show was the Illinois Preview Show three years ago. Adrian’s favorite NJSA show is the National Junior Summer Spectacular in Louisville, Ky. Her favorite event to compete in is showmanship.
Outside of the NJSA, Adrian is involved in the Illinois Club Pig Association and Team Purebred. She also plays point guard for the Field Grade School Lady Panthers' Pee-Wee Basketball Team, who ended their season by finishing up with 9 wins and 2 losses. She also runs cross-country and track. She has had a busy spring competing in as many 4-H livestock judging contests as she can for Marion County, Ill. She’s loves competing and thrives off of competition. In the future, she would like to go to college and become a veterinarian.
Congratulation on being last year’s NJSA Outstanding Novice Scholarship winner. Good Luck this year! We look forward to seeing you at our shows. Keep up the good work!
