Amara is the 17-year-old daughter of Chris and Suzan. She also has a younger brother, Blake, who is 9 years old. She is a junior in high school and is very involved in other activities besides showing her hogs. She is on the judging team, and is a member of FFA, Student Council, choir, and the Sunshine Society (a volunteer organization). Her favorite subject in school is choir.

When she is not busy with everything else, she takes care of her hogs. Her family houses a 20-sow herd with Durocs as the main breed. She has been showing for 11 years.

Amara has been in the NJSA since it has started. She attends the World Pork Expo Junior National (her favorite by far), American Royal, the National Junior Summer Spectacular, NAILE, county and state fair. Next year she plans to go to Perry, Ga., for the Southeast Regional.
