Jada Johnson is the 7-year-old daughter of Mark and Karen Johnson. Jada, her parents and brother Jackson, 12, reside in Poneto, Ind.
Jada is currently in 2nd grade and says her favorite subject in school is recess! Jada enjoys playing on her local youth baseball team, as a shortstop, and basketball team, as a guard.
More than anything, Jada enjoys raising and showing hogs. Jada’s family currently raises about 30 sows. She enjoys helping out with pig chores, such as feeding, and playing with the new piglets.
This young lady has shown pigs for five years, three of them as a NJSA member. Her favorite breed of pig to show is Durocs and her favorite contest is the showmanship, which she works very hard at. Jada’s favorite NJSA event is the NJSS because it's air conditioned!
Not only does Jada enjoy showing pigs, she is also good at it! At the World Pork Expo Junior National, she finished 10th in the judging contest, 8th in sweepstakes, and also exhibited a 2nd-place gilt. She also took home 10th place in the showmanship contest at NJSS.
Jada has quite a bright future ahead of her and would like to one day become a teacher.
You’re an exceptional NJSA member, Jada! Congratulations on all that you’ve done you definitely deserve the spotlight!
