, where he is a busy attending hog shows, judging contests, football games, basketball games and 4-H activities. Chris, a seventh grader at Wyandotte Junior High, has been showing hogs since the age of 5. He has attended almost every National Junior Summer Spectacular (NJSS) and Southwest Regional show. He shows Hampshire, Duroc and
Yorkshire
market and breeding hogs.
Some of his recent accomplishments include winning the junior sweepstakes competition at the NJSS last summer with a second-place finish in the judging contest, second in class with his gilt and third place in showmanship.
Chris’ livestock judging team has been very tough to beat. They won the hog judging competition at the
Oklahoma
State
University
field day, earning a chance to compete at the National Barrow Show contest in
Austin
,
Minn.
, where they were second. Additionally, Chris played on a football team that had a perfect record two years in a row.
In the near future, Chris would like to win every major show in
Oklahoma
. Long term, he wants to own a boar stud and remain active in the swine industry.
