Note: This is a joint event held in conjunction with Team Purebred. There will be no market hog loadout available.
We will pen off the trailer and that anyone wishing to pen together should arrive together
Limit per Exhibitor: Two entries, per sex, per breed. You must show one purebred barrow for every one crossbred barrow,
and one purebred gilt for every one crossbred gilt.
Weight Limit Barrows: 215-290 lbs. with 15 lb. weigh-back
Weight Limit Cross Gilts: 375 lbs. or less with 15 lb. weigh-back

Sunday, June 3

10 a.m.:

WPX Jr. National hogs may begin arriving on fairgrounds

2 p.m.

Vet check and unloading of WPX Jr. National hogs begins

Monday, June 4

8 a.m. - 6 p.m.:

Registration (Cattle Barn)

4-5:30 p.m.:

Adult PQA Plus Certification

4 p.m.:

All WPX Junior National entries must be on grounds

4-5:30 p.m.:

National Pork Board Clinic

6:30 p.m.:

Stock Show U Clinic for Swine

7 p.m.:

Crossbred gilt weight cards due

Tuesday, June 5

8 a.m.:

Mandatory exhibitor meeting (Ring A)

9 a.m.:

Showmanship

 

* Ring A: Novice followed by Intermediate

 

* Ring B: Junior followed by Senior

The Junior Crossbred Gilt show will begin immediately following the conclusion of showmanship in both rings.

 

* Ring A: Classes number will be determined at the show

 

* Ring B: Classes number will be determined at the show

Noon:

Purebred and crossbred barrow weight cards due

5:30 p.m.: Pork Chop Dinner sponsored by the Pork Checkoff and Seaboard Foods

7 p.m.:

Open show entry arrival closed for evening

Wednesday, June 6

7 a.m.-7 p.m.:

Open show entries may arrive

8 a.m.:

Team Purebred Skillathon Quiz Opens (Team Purebred Booth)

8 a.m.:

Purebred Gilt Show

 

* Ring A: Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire

 

* Ring B: Berkshire, Chester, Hereford, Poland and Spot

9 a.m. – 6 p.m.:

Open show registration (open show office in swine barn)

2:30 p.m.:

Root Beer Floats sponsored by the Pork Checkoff and U.S. Pork Center of Excellence

Thursday, June 7

7 a.m.:

Inspirational Service with Ray Perryman (Ring A)

8 a.m.:

Open show entries may arrive-
all open show entries must be on grounds by 8 a.m.

8-10 a.m.:

Open show registration (open show office in swine barn)

8 a.m.:

Purebred Barrow Show

 

* Ring A: Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire

 

* Ring B: Berkshire, Chester, Hereford, Poland and Spot

*Immediately following the selection of the Champion Spot Barrow the Crossbred Barrow show will begin in Ring B. The Crossbred Barrow show will break for the selection of the Overall Grand Champion Purebred Barrow in Ring A at the conclusion of the Yorkshire Barrow show.

5 p.m.:

Team Purebred Quiz Closes (Team Purebred Booth)

Friday, June 8

7-8:30 a.m.:

Judging Contest registration

7:30 a.m.:

Open Show – Yorkshire show followed by Landrace, Duroc, Hampshire, crossbred boars (Ring A) and crossbred gilts (Ring B)

8 a.m.:

Open Show-Berkshire show followed by Spot, Poland China and Chester White (Ring B)

*Immediately following the Chester White Show: Open Crossbred Gilt Show in Ring B

9 a.m.:

Judging Contest

11:30 a.m.:

Novice Judging Contest

2 p.m.:

All WPX Junior National Hogs are released, but exhibitors are encouraged to stay through Saturday for the World Pork Expo Breeding Hog Sale

**Awards Ceremony location and time will be determined based on the open show.

Saturday, June 9

9 a.m.:

Open Sale- Yorkshire sale followed by Landrace, Duroc, Hampshire and crossbred boars & gilts (Ring A)

9:30 a.m.:

Open Sale- Berkshire sale followed by Spot, Poland China and Chester White (Ring B)
